A New Era, A New Business Model

A new time seems to have evolved. A different time. The second week of March of 2020, we lost about 65% of our business, made it through just to be overwhelmed-by too much work because of the hiring issues the country faced. We had to raise the rates as we were raising the rates of the cleaning techs so we wouldn't lose them as well as to keep up with mega inflation! There was so much talk of "pivoting". I did not know what that term meant, but I sure know what it means now! We changed our business model, changed the rates, and found very creative ways to try to hire new cleaning techs. Hiring when every business is hiring makes you become a little bit competitive and creative, that is for sure! For those clients who have stuck with us through it all, how can we tell you how grateful we are for you? The wind of change comes almost daily and it is difficult to keep up with. We went from taking it year by year, to month to month and now we take things day to day. One thing I know is the importance of being grateful through it all. For someone who loves stability, these past 2 years were quite a time. While we are pretty much the same, there have been some changes. Some of us work by ourselves now, but some of us are still in crews. The rates are different, the business model is different, but we are still trying to be the very best cleaning service in Frederick. While we hope things get a little easier for all small businesses, we are grateful to still be around and extremely grateful to the cleaning techs who are here at Kidwell's Kleaning. Thank you Frederick! Here is to hoping for a little more stability in the future.
