5 Tips for a Cleaner Shower
Are you a do it yourself house cleaner? If so, check out these 5 great tips on how to keep your shower cleaner. You will go weeks and weeks without having to do a big scrub out and with the holidays just around the corner, we all will need any extra time we can get!
1. SWITCH YOUR BAR SOAP TO A LIQUID SOAP. Did you know that liquid soap leaves a lot less residue than bar soap? Dove, Irish Spring and Caress Bar Soaps are especially fatty and leave behind lots of soap scum. You can still keep the same brand and the same smell, but try it in liquid form.
2. WAX YOUR FIBERGLASS SHOWERSTALL. Waxing your fiberglass shower stall is like waxing your car. The water just beads up and slides down instead of sticking to your walls. If you are into green cleaning, use a wax that has no petroleum distillates.
3. STAY AWAY FROM DAILY SHOWER SPRAYS. I've noticed that these sprays can stain the chrome in the shower and actually creates a build up thus making it harder to clean later. They are also really bad for you if you ingest the spray!
4. DRY OR SQUEEGEE YOUR SHOWER OUT. This is for the person who has time on their side. It's kind of time consuming but it really does help to keep the shower really clean! And for the person who doesn't have time on their side...
5. LEAVE THE SHOWER CURTAIN/DOOR OPEN. This will allow your shower to dry out naturally and faster and may even help keep mildew and mold from forming.
Try some of these tips and see how long you can go without doing the big "scrub out" of your shower!
