As we approach the holiday season, it can be an extremely busy and overwhelming time of year for a lot of people. Hosting family and friends at your home can add stress if you are worried about having a perfectly clean home for your guests. BUT did you know that your guests only notice a few areas of your home? You don’t have to have your whole home spotless (of course, if you want your whole home to be sparkling clean, Kidwell’s Kleaning can help!

Here are the areas in your home that you will really want to focus on when hosting holiday parties!

  1. Your Kitchen! Take the time to put any extra small appliances away so you have lots of counter space to cook and place food on. After removing the extra appliances, this is a great time to give your counters a good scrub down! Don’t forget to put a brand new sponge out too. (Here are some Kitchen Cleaning Tips if you want to clean a little bit more.)

  2. The Inside of the Fridge. Make sure all the old food and expired condiments is thrown away and it is wiped clean, so you have plenty of room for leftovers.

  3. The Guest Bathroom. You’ll want to make sure your guest bathroom is spotless and that you have a fresh clean hand towel, an empty trash can with a clean liner in it and a full bottle of delicious smelling holiday scented hand soap. (Guests will appreciate some hand lotion as well!) Here are some helpful tips for cleaning a bathroom.

  4. Baseboards. In all these rooms the baseboards can look freshly painted by being wiped clean. A little degreaser and a cloth can work wonders for this!

  5. Fingerprints. Make sure to remove the fingerprints from all the entrance doors around the doorknobs and clean any glass on these doors. I like to do this just before my guests arrive.

  6. Sofas & Chairs. The furniture in these rooms should be clean and/or vacuumed with any throw pillows put in just the “right” spot! Blankets can be folded meticulously and centered on the back of your sofa.

  7. Curtains & Light Bulbs. Lastly, make sure all blinds and curtains are even and spaced alike and all your light bulbs match each other.

There you go! If you just make sure a few rooms are clean, your guests will assume your whole house is spotless! And don’t forget, Kidwell’s Kleaning can help with all this as well as providing extras during the Holiday Season. Simply request an estimate. We tend to get booked up fast during the holiday season so call soon if we can be of help to you!
