Do You Have Smelly Sponge Syndrome?

downloadIt's that time of year again you may be entertaining and I want to make sure you are ready for your guests.  Might you have smelly sponge syndrome?  That's when you use your sponge WAY too long and it gets this awful smell, but yet, you still continue to use it, because, well, it's just kind of a pain to get a new one or you keep forgetting to buy one at the store!  If you find yourself in a pickle and don't want that smelly sponge to be noticed by the guests that will most likely be helping you clean up, try this! 1)  Microwave your sponge.  This may help the first couple times but eventually you won't be able to get that rotten smell out no matter what.  2) Put the sponge in the dishwasher while you wash your dishes.  (Again, this is good for only so many times) 3) Throw that nasty sponge away and use a washcloth temporarily until you can get to the store to buy a new sponge. And lastly 5) Soak it in a little bit of bleach and water.  I personally like to break open a fresh new sponge just before my guests arrive so I always have plenty under the sink. And at times I myself am guilty of having SMELLY SPONGE SYNDRONE!  :)  Merry Christmas!
